New Season. New Classes. New Discoveries

From sanctuary retreats in New Jersey and Florida to our 7-week online immersion.

Dear friends,

I think I inherited the “back-to-school gene.”

I was raised by two public school teachers, so the arrival of fall always meant something special in our house. New students. New classrooms. New beginnings. That particular energy that comes when people gather together to learn something they care about.

And apparently, it stayed with me.

Even after all these years, when summer begins to turn toward fall, I find myself wanting to be in a classroom again — sharing, learning, laughing, and discovering something new with others. Of course, my classroom looks a little different from most.

There may be horses leaning into our hands, a nervous dog quietly softening, a cat climbing into someone's lap and asking for a session… and quite a few muddy shoes.

Because with Jin Shin Jyutsu, the animals are never simply our “subjects.” They are our teachers.
This fall, I’d love to invite you back into that conversation — whether you are joining me at a rescue filled with animals, immersing yourself from home, or spending four days at the place that has become my home away from home.

Here are the three opportunities awaiting this fall:

September 11-13, 2026

Muddy Paws Farm Rescue – Southampton, New Jersey

Three days learning with more than 100 rescued animals in a truly magical setting.

Horse, donkeys, goats, Wasabi, (the big cow,) chickens, pigs, and more become our teachers as we explore Jin Shin Jyutsu through hands-on experience.

September 26 - November 14, 2026

Online Deep Dive into the Depths

If fall makes you want to learn but you can't get away, this seven-week online immersion gives you the opportunity to go deeply into the Depths and the adaptation of the anchor steps of the 12 organ flows for animals. We’ll explore how to take the work to a more profound level with multiple
species while also deepening your self-help practice and understanding of the Art.

The course includes:

  • Twice-weekly video lessons

  • Study guides and practice work

  • Five Zoom gatherings for sharing and questions — all recorded

  • Access to all course materials through February 14, 2027

You can move through the material at your own pace, making this a wonderful opportunity for both newcomers and experienced practitioners. Register and learn more here!

October 8-11, 2026

Alaqua Animal Refuge - Freeport, Florida

Four days surrounded by hundreds of rescued animals at one of the country's most inspiring sanctuaries — a place that has given thousands of animals a second chance.

This retreat-style class gives us time to slow down, settle into the Art, build relationships with the animals, and experience the healing that happens through extended practice together.

Alaqua has been my home base for more than 16 years, and it holds a very special place in my heart. The student housing is in a beautifully renovated home nestled in a quiet corner of the original refuge property. Happy horses, cats, and chickens — all lifetime residents of the refuge — will be your neighbors.

Whether you've studied with me many times or are thinking about joining your very first class, I would love to spend some time learning together this fall.

Every group develops its own heart.
Every animal has something unique to teach us.
And every class reminds me why, after all these years, I still get that wonderful “back-to-school feeling” when September comes around.

I hope one of these gatherings calls to you.

I'd love to welcome you back to class.

With warmth,

Adele, Giannina Mia, Scirroco, and Bob Leas
